How to create your own web radio...
This guide will show you step-by-step how to create your own web radio stream using SwissCenter's stream relay service.
How it works |
| |
 |
Required software |
| |
- Winamp (MP3/OGG player for Microsoft Windows)
- OddCast DSP (Winamp plugin for realtime streaming)
|
| |
| |
|
| |
Open Winamp and go to Options > Preferences > DSP/Effect > OddCast DSP.In the window that opens, create a new stream: Click on Add encoder. A new stream is now created: right-click > Configure. This is where you configure your stream, but we're interested in the fields for configuring the IceCast server connection. |
Example stream configuration: |
| |
Once the stream is configured, go to the next button: YP. This will allow you to register your radio in the Icecast Yellow Pages (YP), making your stream public if you wish.

Connection between the plugin and the server |
| |
Open Winamp. The DSP plugin will open at the same time. Click on "Connect" (and check "Autoconnect"). Normally, at this time, you are streaming. You should get a window similar to this during your broadcast: |

| |
Accessing an MP3 / OGG stream from the Internet |
| |
You can use any software that can read MP3 or OGG Vorbis streams, including Winamp, QuickTime, iTunes, etc. Enter the URL of your stream. For example: http://streaming.swisscenter.com:8002/stream.mp3 (refer to the information used during plugin configuration, above). |
